Chapter 100:
The Fall of the Interstellar Federation
*
"Lord Caesar, the Parasitic Beasts and Alien have been completely eradicated by the nuclear strike!" a gray-haired official reported.
"Excellent! Those wretched creatures who dared to oppose humanity have finally met their rightful end." A gleam of ambition flashed in Caesar’s eyes as he ordered,
"Proceed with the plan. Spread the news across the entire galaxy that the Main System violated the ban by secretly colluding with the Alien and building an army on the wasteland planet! We will seize this opportunity to utterly crush both the Main System and the Ability Users—those destabilizing elements of society!"
The reporting official nodded and swiftly left to carry out the order.
Just then, a panicked figure suddenly burst into the room, colliding with the departing official and nearly knocking him off balance. Without even pausing to apologize, the man hurriedly shouted at Caesar, who was sitting smugly in his office:
"My Lord! An Ability User has infiltrated the headquarters of the Interstellar Federation!"
"Who is it?" Caesar immediately asked.
"My Lord, it’s the SSS-ranked operative, Huo Li—the one rumored to have ties with the Alien that was just blown to bits!" the man gasped as he reported at top speed.
"So it’s him, huh? Just one man? Ha!" Caesar sat up straight, his expression darkening with displeasure and disdain at the perceived insult.
"How utterly reckless! Spread the word—expose this so-called savior! Report that the Ability Users of the Salvation Federation are attacking the Interstellar Federation in an act of treason! Haha, after thousands of years of cautious maneuvering, the Main System has finally slipped up."
Caesar turned to the messenger, who was still standing motionless in the office for some reason.
"What are you waiting for? Get moving! Capture footage of Huo Li's crimes before apprehending him! Hmph, does he really think having an Ability allows him to run rampant? What, is he here to demand justice for that beast’s death?"
However, instead of the expected compliance, the messenger remained standing at the center of the room. The previous breathless panic on his face had vanished—replaced by an expression of cold indifference.
Caesar: "Why are you still standing there? Get moving!"
"You killed Xiao Yi. Of course, I didn’t come here just to demand an explanation." The so-called messenger stated coldly.
Caesar’s eyes widened in shock. "What are you talking about? Are you insane?!"
The gray-haired official standing by the door turned his head and continued,
"You pampered parasites, living in luxury for centuries—killed the person who single-handedly saved humanity’s fate!"
Under Caesar’s horrified gaze, the two officials spoke in unison: "A life for a life!"
"Guards! Security!" Caesar bolted from his desk and ran toward the doorway. "There are two traitors here! Arrest them now! Hurry!"
Frantically, he lunged toward the nearest security squad, clutching the arm of the lead officer as if grasping a lifeline.
"In my office, they—" Caesar’s voice cut off abruptly as he witnessed all twenty black-clad guards turn their heads in perfect sync and, in one voice, declare:
"A life for a life!"
"Y-You…" Caesar’s round, bloated face flushed red. He trembled violently, trying to retreat, but his legs refused to move. Instead, they buckled beneath him, and he collapsed onto the floor.
The twenty guards stared down at him with icy expressions.
"Caesar, when you crossed that line, did it never occur to you to understand what we—Ability Users of the Salvation Federation—have done for humanity over the past thousand years? And when we finally decide to stop enduring, do you have any idea what we are capable of?"
As he stared into the cold, familiar faces of the guards he once commanded, Caesar's eyes rolled back, and he fainted.
Across the Interstellar Federation headquarters, similar scenes unfolded simultaneously.
Half an hour later, the scheduled broadcast to the entire galaxies began.
However, instead of the usual praise-filled report about the Interstellar Federation’s supposed triumph over the Parasites and Alien conspiracies, the screen showed a shocking sight—326 high-ranking officials, forced into a single line in the Federation’s central plaza, restrained by security personnel.
In a live transmission broadcasted across the entire galaxies, each of these officials, one by one, confessed their crimes before the cameras—their corruption, their atrocities, and the truth behind the Alien’s death.
The entire universe was in an uproar. No one had ever imagined that the Interstellar Federation, long regarded as the pinnacle of human authority and glory, was, in reality, a cesspool of filth and corruption! Selling government positions, bribery, and collusion with criminal syndicates were merely the surface of their crimes. The true horror was that, for a thousand years, the Federation had secretly captured Ability Users and conducted live experiments on them, desperately seeking a way to extract and transfer their abilities.
Even the so-called war against the brutal and monstrous Zerg race had been nothing more than an excuse—a manufactured crisis to justify military expansion and increased taxation. Only now did people learn the truth: the Zergs, far from being a species bent on conquest, primarily lived off plants and had no real interest in expansion. The only reason they had ever waged war was due to the destruction of their natural habitats that human had long since stripped of their resources.
On this day, through the trembling confessions of Federation officials, the truth about the downfall of the Parasitic Beasts came to light. Billions across the star system finally realized just how much the Alien, who had been wrongfully killed by the Federation, had done for humanity.
The Federation’s centuries-long suppression of the Main System and Ability Users, as well as the Salvation Alliance’s silent sacrifices, were now fully exposed to the public.
Shortly after, under the very laws of the Federation that they once wielded, all 326 officials faced judgment. Among them, 130—including Caesar—were sentenced to death and executed immediately.
And just like that, in a single day, Huo Li had utterly annihilated the Interstellar Federation, a colossal behemoth that had reigned at the peak of human power.
Yet, this moment, where public opinion stood closest to the truth, did not last long. The Federation’s remaining forces, military officers, government leaders, and countless other organizations whose interests were deeply intertwined with the regime quickly mobilized:
'The Interstellar Federation must not fall! Ability Users must not be allowed to take control!'
Therefore, doubts about the fairness of the trials erupted like a tidal wave. Accusations against Huo Li’s ability surfaced, claiming that everything was more than an elaborate conspiracy orchestrated by him. The human ruling class, unwilling to let go of their power, launched a fierce counterattack, mobilizing every resource at their disposal.
Meanwhile, the high-ranking Ability Users and those stationed in Alliance Town, who had been awaiting their final battle on the desolate planet, heard of the Main System’s sudden disconnection and Huo Li’s lone infiltration of the Federation. Hardened by years of brutal survival in the apocalypse, they immediately sensed the shift in the tides and the Main System’s choice to sit back and watch.
Without hesitation, the Ability Users organized themselves and clashed head-on with the remnants of the human regime…
.
The black-haired youth quietly released his mental energy, taking control of Weyland Corporation, an enterprise larger than a mid-sized city.
Within the operating company, he strolled leisurely as if walking through an empty world.
This massive corporation, home to hundreds of thousands of employees, continued its daily operations as if nothing had changed. Every worker remained focused on their tasks, diligently performing their duties.
Most of them had families—parents, lovers, children. By all accounts, they were good people contributing to humanity’s progress through biological research.
The youth stepped into one of the laboratories and silently observed.
Inside a cage, a being with translucent skin and delicate, pale-blue butterfly wings was undergoing live tissue extraction.
He turned his gaze toward a middle-aged researcher nearby. He was chatting with his young daughter over a video call and smiling warmly.
After all, Weyland’s most dangerous experiments had been conducted exclusively on desolate planets and space stations—and he had already wiped out every test subject and researcher in those locations.
Here, however, everything appeared so harmless.
The youth made his decision. With a mere thought, every employee in Weyland Corporation suddenly froze in place, their eyes vacant and devoid of awareness.
At that moment, all 462 species, over 50,000 intelligent and semi-intelligent creatures that Weyland had created or modified, immediately sensed the change.
Even the butterfly-winged humanoid, who had been staring blankly with lifeless eyes, suddenly regained awareness. A deep, luminous blue light shimmered across his wings as they unfurled, as though probing for an escape route.
