Welcome to Starcafe ("we", "our", or "us"), a fan translation website where we share fan translations of Asian novels. These translations are provided for free, but extra updates may be posted when we receive donations. Additionally, readers can access advance chapters by subscribing to our Patreon membership, which allows them to read ahead of the public release schedule.
By using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and any updates we may apply in the future. If you do not agree with these terms, please refrain from using this website.
1. Use of Content
All translations on Starcafe are fan works and are not for commercial use. We do not own the original novels, but the fan translation itself is our work, and we reserve the rights to our translations.
- Users are NOT allowed to copy, repost, or distribute any content from this website or our Ko-fi and Patreon exclusive posts without explicit permission.
- If someone steals our translations, we reserve the right to take action, which may include reporting the violation to relevant platforms.
2. Memberships & Donations
Membership Access
StarCafe offers tiered memberships on Patreon that grant advance access to ongoing translations. Access is determined by content volume (Chinese characters) to ensure fairness across chapters of varying lengths.
- Stardust ($1/month) → Ad-free reading on Patreon plus access to the upcoming week’s public update.
- Little Star ($3/month) → Advance access to 2 weeks of updates (20k+ Chinese characters) plus the upcoming week’s update.
- Super Nova ($5/month) → Advance access to 3 weeks of updates (30k+ Chinese characters) plus the upcoming week’s update.
- Nebula Rebirth ($10/month) → Advance access to up to 6 weeks of updates (up to 60k+ Chinese characters) plus the upcoming week’s update. (Note: If stockpile is insufficient, a minimum of 40k+ Chinese characters is guaranteed).
- Galactic Archive ($25/month) → Advance access to all currently stockpiled chapters and drafts across all ongoing translation projects.
Access Update Policy
- Membership access is updated once a week, every Saturday.
- Updates are released in consistent batches; there are no mid-week access changes.
- Paid members (including the Stardust $1 tier) also receive access to chapters scheduled for public release in the upcoming week.
Novel Collection Memberships
In addition to monthly memberships, StarCafe offers novel collection memberships on Patreon for readers who want to binge a specific novel.
- Each collection provides 1 month of gifted access to a specific novel, sent via direct message within 24 hours of purchase.
- During the gifted period, members get FULL access to all Stardust ($1) posts plus up to 12 weeks of advance chapters for the chosen novel.
- A minimum of 6 weeks of advance chapters is guaranteed, matching the threshold of the Nebula Rebirth ($10) tier. New translation projects may have less than the indicated minimum, so please read the collection post carefully before purchasing.
- Each collection costs $6. Currently available collections: Guide to Having Multiple Aliases in a Literary Cosmic World, Do Not Watch [Infinite], and Did the Qing Crown Prince Court Death Today?.
- Important: If you change your monthly membership tier during the gifted period, the gifted access will be forfeited immediately and no refunds will be provided.
- If you have already purchased a collection post and would like to buy it again, please send a direct message so a new collection membership paid post can be created for you.
- Each Collection Membership post will be removed once the corresponding novel is fully translated. Collection availability and pricing may change at our discretion.
Ko-fi Donations & Goal System
StarCafe uses a Ko-fi goal system with a $10 goal. Donations contribute toward the goal and come with the following perks:
- Every donation grants the donator a corresponding Patreon membership as a gift (e.g., a $3 donation = Little Star membership gift, $5 = Super Nova, etc.).
- When the $10 goal is reached, a chosen novel’s public schedule will be moved forward by 1 week.
Refunds
Donations, collection purchase and membership fees are considered voluntary contributions to support our translations and website. Because of this, they are generally non-refundable, and will only be considered in special or emergency situations. If you insist on a refund, it can still be processed but with certain limits and consequences.
Ko-fi Donations
- Refunds for Ko-fi donations will only be considered if requested within 1 week of the original payment.
- Refunds will be issued through PayPal only.
- PayPal processing fees are non-refundable, so the refunded amount may be slightly less than what was donated.

Patreon Memberships
- Patreon refunds always return the full pledge amount to the supporter, and the money is taken directly from our Patreon balance.
- This means we lose both the amount we received and the platform + processing fees (for example: a $10 pledge gives us ~$8.58, but if refunded, the full $10 is removed from our balance).
- Because of this, refund requests on Patreon create direct losses for us. Supporters who refund may be blocked to prevent repeated abuse.
- If you believe a refund is absolutely necessary, please contact us first. In some cases, we may ask you to cover our lost fees via PayPal or Wise so we can process the refund fairly.
Note
- We do our best to be transparent. All Patreon tiers and novel collection clearly state their benefits and limitations. Members are encouraged to unsubscribe the membership if they no longer wish to continue.
- These measures are in place because translating is primarily a hobby, and the money we receive goes toward website maintenance and helping with the editing/proofreading process. If we gain more support in the future, we hope to improve and relax these refund terms.
- Membership and donation perks may change at our discretion.
3. User Conduct
To maintain a positive environment, users must adhere to the following rules:
- No offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate usernames.
- Comments must be respectful and free of hate speech, harassment, or inflammatory remarks.
- No spam, harassment, or inappropriate content.
- We reserve the right to delete violating comments and, in severe cases, remove the user’s account.
4. Limitation of Liability
This website is hosted and maintained entirely out of pocket, with support from readers’ donations. Delays, errors, or downtime may occur.
We are not responsible for inconvenience caused by site issues but will do our best to resolve them promptly.
5. Changes to Terms
These Terms and Conditions may be updated at any time. Major changes will be announced, but users are responsible for reviewing this page periodically.
