Just as Mo Bai had suspected, the wristbands she and Pang Mian received were indeed creations of the Phantom Butterfly's mimicry. Once the environmental illusion faded, a large amusement park appeared before them. The small house they had passed through earlier was actually the park's entrance gate. Other than the rules posted on the gate, everything else had been fake.

The Phantom Butterfly's environmental mimicry had evolved.

Previously, its mimicry was only visual. If one reached out and touched something, one would still feel the original object beneath the illusion.

But now, the mimicry was almost indistinguishable from reality. It was impossible to tell the truth from falsehood through the five senses alone.

Still, Mo Bai suspected that this realistic mimicry had a time limit. The class they had just attended had been so short not only because the Phantom Butterfly was illiterate, but also because the mimicry could only be maintained for a limited duration.

After the illusion vanished, a beautiful female NPC stood behind the amusement park entrance, handing out wristbands to visitors.

This staff member was the Love Amusement Park's true instance creature.

The wristbands were identical to the fake ones they had received in front of the little house. The Phantom Butterfly had created its imitations based on the real items.

After receiving the pink wristband, Mo Bai did not put it on immediately. Instead, she asked the staff member, "What do the colors mean?"

The staff member replied, "Pink is female, green is male, and white is neutral."

"Do you know that one?" Mo Bai asked, pointing to the Phantom Butterfly wearing the white wristband. "The one with the white band."

She wanted to know how thoroughly Butterfly Cottage and the Love Amusement Park had fused together.

The way Butterfly Cottage merged with the Love Amusement Park was probably similar to how Disease Town absorbed domains: first surrounding them spatially, then gradually integrating the domains themselves. It was a process.

Mo Bai suspected that she had already encountered two successful examples of domain fusion: the Smiling Circus and the Heart-Mirror Room.

After the Heart-Mirror Room was destroyed, Mo Bai obtained a scene card. Yet the Smiling Circus remained intact and continued to exist as an independent domain.

From this, Mo Bai inferred that the Heart-Mirror Room was an instance absorbed and integrated by the Smiling Circus. Abandoning it would not cause significant damage to the circus.

The Magician realized how troublesome Mo Bai was and did not want the circus to suffer severe losses while Disease Town was looming nearby, so he sacrificed the Heart-Mirror Room.

If the Heart-Mirror Room succeeded in trapping Mo Bai and the others, it would be for the best. The Magician might even have handed Mo Bai over to Disease Town in exchange for the Smiling Circus's freedom.

If the Heart-Mirror Room failed to contain her, he could simply abandon it, provide Mo Bai with a degree of assistance, and help her undermine Disease Town. In that case, he would still gain his freedom.

For the Magician, it was a deal with no downside.

He might not have known the origins of Disease Town, but after being trapped inside the instance for three months, a Super A-rank monster like him should have sensed that the power of the Ultra-Star Rank monster had been split into two parts and that the heart had been partially sealed and was relatively safe.

He could not directly approach the heart, but Mo Bai could. She even suspected that the ability Inequivalent Exchange is used to steal that heart.

Overall, the Magician had absolute control over the Heart-Mirror Room.

Another fusion model was represented by the Abandoned Hospital and the Dream Domain. Those two instances coexisted while remaining independent.

Even after the Abandoned Hospital was destroyed by Li Ming, the Dream Domain remained unaffected and was even able to retain part of the hospital's territory.

The Dismemberment Forensic Doctor knew the entrance to the Dream Domain and could enter and leave it freely. Monitoring Room 502 was specifically left for him.

They were like a real police officer and forensic doctor, colleagues who cooperated and supported each other whenever a case arose.

Mo Bai did not yet know which fusion model applied to Butterfly Cottage and the Love Amusement Park.

"Tell me how these three stages work," Mo Bai said.

"What about the other two stages?" Mo Bai asked.

The staff member continued, "The Explosive Love Ferris Wheel requires each participant to board while wearing a bomb.

However, market regulators have recently become very strict and no longer allow fireworks or explosives, so we switched to air bombs that only simulate explosion sounds. The original explosives were replaced with poison injections.

A shackle will be locked around your ankle. Inside the shackle is a lethal toxin capable of killing instantly. Whenever an explosion sound occurs, the toxin will be injected.

Before boarding the Ferris wheel, lovers can enter Love Value into each other's shackles. Love Value is converted into delayed explosion time. One Love Value equals one second.

The Ferris wheel ride lasts five minutes, so if you receive more than 300 Love Value, you can get off completely unharmed. Afterward, our staff will remove the shackles for you.

This damn instance and the Phantom Butterfly really were a perfect match.

While Mo Bai stood there questioning the staff member, Pang Mian and the Phantom Butterfly had already gotten impatient. They had gone off to ride the carousel and start earning Love Value.

Mo Bai was absolutely certain that she would not give a single point of Love Value to Phantom Butterfly; thus, the Phantom Butterfly's Love Value certainly did not come from her.

She asked, "For groups of three like ours, if the Love Value our director has isn't provided by me, can he still use it on me?"

"Of course," the staff member replied. "Love Value belongs to you. No matter how many people love you, you can choose whom to give that love to."

"In these three stages," Mo Bai asked, "if I survive but my lover dies, does that still count as clearing them?"

"Of course it does!" the staff member said cheerfully.

"Life isn't limited to a single romance. If your lover dies, just find another one. There's no need to hang yourself on one tree. Our amusement park has plenty of lovers to choose from!"

"And what happens if all three stages are cleared?" Mo Bai asked.

The staff member answered, "If you and your lover clear them together, you will belong to one another and obtain each other's souls.

If only one person clears them, and the survivor is one of our amusement park staff members, they will obtain the soul of the visitor who died while deeply loving them.

If the survivor is a visitor, then they will receive our amusement park's ultimate grand prize: a heart that loves you."

"You still haven't told me how to leave the amusement park," Mo Bai said, asking the most important question of all.

The staff member looked at her with pity.

"Only someone who loves no one and is loved by no one will be expelled from the amusement park. How could there be someone so pitiful?"

Mo Bai immediately understood.

Obtaining each other's souls clearly did not sound like a happy ending.

Either one would become corrupted, or one would become the other's puppet.

To obtain the grand prize and leave the amusement park at the same time, a person would have to love no one, while using the three deadly stages to kill every monster in the park that loved them.

Only then could they claim the prize and escape.

Not loving anyone meant resisting the amusement park's mental corruption throughout the games, and the three deadly stages all required placing one's life in a lover's hands.

This amusement park would be much more accurately named: Sever All Love and Murder Your Lover Amusement Park.
